You will love the ocean. It makes you feel small, but not in a bad way. Small because you realize you’re part of something bigger.

The Reef side of the name comes from my love of the ocean. I've been diving for since 2006, 17 odd years at the time of writing this bio and always found it hard to describe to people what I was seeing under the water. Like how do you describe to someone that a slug can be the most beautiful thing you have seen on a dive? I'm already a bit quirky, but even that is a stretch for most people to imagine. So I cut to the chase and started my underwater photography journey back in 2020 with a GoPro, jumped to a TG6, dabbled in a Nikon D90 and was working with Sony A7RV. The A7RV had an unfortunate accident at the beach and I've since upgrade to the A1mk2!
The Beef part comes from my love of the country. I came to love country photography when I was on a mates farm and could spend time watching cattle musters happening. Watching the relationship between humans, horses and dogs to achieve an aim left an impression on me and is something I've wanted to continue to capture ever since. Short of having my own farm to muster (hard when you love being under the water more than on the surface), I've started to head to events to continue to try to capture those special relationships. I use those events to produce galleries of photos available for competitors and spectators alike.
